Solar Energy

Delta-T Devices solar radiation measurement instruments are well suited to scientific research, meteorological applications, and commercial photovoltaic validation/monitoring.

Our range includes the SPN1 Sunshine Pyranometer and BF5 Sunshine Sensor – both of which measure global (total) and diffuse radiation, and sunshine state (all in a single instrument). They are also easy to use and need no routine adjustment or polar alignment.

The innovative SPN1 Sunshine Pyranometer is a research-grade sensor with premium build quality. It has a precision ground glass dome and uses a patented array of thermopile sensors and a computer-generated shading pattern to measure the direct and diffuse components of incident solar radiation. Output from an SPN1 Sunshine Pyranometer allows calculation of DNI (Direct-Normal Irradiance).

Our BF5 Sunshine Sensor is well suited to plant science and building energy management applications, and is a lower cost alternative to the high performance SPN1.
