Canopy Analysis

Non-destructive estimates of Leaf Area Index (LAI) in crop and forest canopies.

SunScan is optimised for the calculation of LAI in low regular canopies, such as most agricultural crops; whereas Hemiview is ideal for tall canopies, typical of forests and woodlands.

Where LAI measurements are not possible in some non-uniform crops, such as vineyards, then SunScan can be used for PAR mapping.

In addition to LAI calculations, Hemiview can also estimate gap fraction, track the solar trajectory for the site, as wellas other solar radiation indices.

BF5  Sunshine Sensor

The special shading pattern of the BF5 Sunshine Sensor's dome is matched to an array of photodiodes in such a way that at least one photodiode always sees an unobstructed solar disc and at least one is always in full shadow.
